Double Edged'

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

A tragic life
so fragile
all is comparison
you see no other:
without scorn
face of distaste
motive reborn.

A mountain of knowledge
must be your life,
that you can judge:
so frequently
impure in potency
all question excluded
forgiving only rhetoric.

An arid tear
must be your life
with so little compassion
for so little difference
even the tiniest hint of patience,
yet, as you say
it is your life
what could I know.
