Death

a poem by Tracy Marie Windisch-Mason, Canada - poetry writer, author, poet

Touching the darkness
It almost satisfies
Touch
That cooling calm
Silent songbird
Come to unbreathe
A twilight lullaby
With the night in your eyes
In blackness
So still you lie
Yet you cannot see
This insanity slipping from me
You are real
As real as this love
And the twist of ways
In this darkness
How I crave
That cooling calm
Silent, silent songbird
Come breathe
Your moonlit sunbeam
Into me
