SUNNY DRIFTY DAYS

a poem by Maggie Pollock, Scotland

Calmness floated over the land
All so peaceful quiet and still,
The only sound Mother Nature's call
Birds chirping meandering streams
Beautiful sounds,
Which calm my mind and will.

Long sunny days oh how the sun shone
And long beautiful starry nights,
The sun setting was breathtaking
Red pink and amber glows
Held me spellbound,
What a wonderful awesome sight.

Days drifted by so slowly
Then quietly night came calling,
The sound of the night owl cooing
The scampering of daylight creatures
Comforting and soothing
When the sun had finally fallen.

Oh what a relaxing holiday
Where life was happy and carefree,
The joy of Mother Nature
Being at one with Nature
Astounding
And an awesome feeling for me.
