Marilyn Monroe and when it Thunders

a poem by Rita Joyce Singh, India

He loved the movie The Prince and the Showgirl
And he was the best dancer this side of Suez Canal
He imagined he danced with Marilyn Monroe..may be now that sounds banal
Then sadly, sadly, he died. Who? My Dad
Long time ago. Now things are not so sad or bad
Except that when there is downpour and thunder
I do begin to wonder
If what he had said is true
All that racketing thunder is the clue
He is dancing with Marilyn Monroe
Twirling her head to toe.
