a poem by Harshita Srivastava, India

I lay here like a lifeless body
Knowing not what to do
I stare at the ceiling fan
I don't have much time to live
My dreams are shattered
I have lost all hope
My desires have come to an end
I watch my Dad working tirelessly
I see my Mom cooking
They all are hiding the pain
I should be given a homely environment
But even they know this
One day they will find me dead
I wish I could fight CANCER
