hopes, thoughts and fears

a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Jesus I pray purify my heart
Renew my thoughts in every part
Wash me clean with your precious blood
with your grace and mercy I ask you to flood

Bring healing for hurts, please show me my wrong
Thanks to love and compassion, to you I belong
You know my hopes, my thoughts and fears
The mistakes I have made over the years
but you have promised to love me always, forever
When I choose you we can get through this together

Standing side by side, I can pick up the cross,
carry your burden, no longer am lost
My fears you have conquered, my hopes you've secured
My thoughts you grasp hold of, through you I am cured.

Walking with God
Praise be to the king
