Emptied (Beyond the rainbow)

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Shades of blue
dark night
falling through
shadows eye
a listeners lie
words herd
to a lovers field
its fumes
quieter than the moon
panic pressed
to a button marked
'too soon'

fingers claw at my spine
breath fighting
a body barely mine
peace consorts with anger
both consumed
by survivals inherent thirst
first child of fear
the worst,

a different silence wakes
asking of vision
its choices forging
an impolite dream
anger now snatching
at foul cage
cleaning torrent of natures rage
love left empty in its cell,

again we surface
ocean pure of wedded hell
inhabitants of emotion
gazing without, within
our words
now emptied to begin.
