possibly (impossibly)

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

possibly
I hear the words again
a lovers spear
thrown weary
with the pain
cutting me down
where my knees
kneel at the truth
the lies of Mans' disease
snake
pelting apples at Adam
all is fury
deconstruction
my head carried
on a plate of peas..

possibly
I was wrong
matching irregular verbs
into my lovers' song
you always loved me
best
only for me
to lure true test
bobbing
for apples with Adam
all is illusion
fabrication
our love..
frail in the contest

possibly (impossibly)
I hear the words once more
a lovers foot
acrobat in the door
how many years
did we try
to avert our eyes
from a disappearing sky
Adam
withered with your love
wild
in the world of his dreaming
missing
every single goodbye
except..
for Earth and season
