rising sun

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

Walking slowly along the sand
together, in love, hand in hand
waves rolling gently up the beach
clear blue day just out of reach
seagulls soaring in the sky
sound of the sea a gentle sigh
over the horizon, sun in its rise
dawn reflected, in her beautiful eyes
through their lips not passing a word
seagulls and ocean are all thats heard
sand glistening with the rising sun
young lovers hearts, filled with fun
out here alone, feeling so free
no where else, they'd rather be
along the beach comes a gentle breeze
gulls manoeuvring air with pertinent ease
two young lovers in each others arms
young hearts like these hate can not harm
sun repelling the last signs of night
two young lovers, lost out of sight.
