a poem by Leif Phillips, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

My friend the postman
delivers me my mail
along with other junk
that goes straight in the fire
we have a chat
bout this and that
Juddy's latest suspension
aggravated hyper-tension
ptsd and the returned veteran
price of bananas
at a pinch, lately
cos I been baking
I'll give him
a cuppa and a scone
to keep his afternoon
balanced on the run
every now and then
he'll pluck up his courage
and say
'you bikers are vastly misrepresented'
and I laugh
push him on his way.
