a poem by Akwasi Boakye Yiadom, Ghana

Love is platinum
Love is sweet with venom
Precious than gold and diamond
Yet the idealist hates it
Love is good so evil

Many hearts give their souls to love
To make their life lovelorn
Many legs run and rage
For these bimbo and nympho
Many hands plague into plight
For this greenly apple

Ne’er be blind-folded
And follow any pig and dog in a skirt
Lo and behold, you become forlorn
For the time you’ve wasted
In chasing infatuated love

Though tiny, rules and ruins the mighty
And soils their erudition
Ne’er hate love
But love love
Not from your heart
But from your mind.
