Farewell and Restart

a poem by Michelle Klemm, Germany - poetry writer, author, poet

Three years seemed to be a long,
but far too soon the time was gone.
I remember, how it began,
and I feel sad now is the end.

You have taught me oh so much,
but sometimes it was really tough,
at times we also had different views -
for you my restart is great news.

Three years broke the fence,
we're more than colleagues, we're friends,
we laughed and cried together.
I have to go – you know the matter.

Over is the apprenticeship,
to working world goes the trip.
Also I am no more lonely,
we want to start a family.

I will always remember you,
all the things we've been through.
On my own I have to sail,
you prepared me very well.
