An Acrostic Combination

a poem by Denis Barter, Canada - poetry writer, author, poet

Something a little different.

Warning And Take Care! (Single word)
Freezing Rain is Dangerous To Walkers! (Rhymed Effort).

We
Ask
Residents
Not
Inside,
Nicely
Garbed

And
Now
Departing.

To
All
Keen
Environmentalists

Carefully
Approach
Roads
Exposed.

For those of you
Receiving this warning. Do
Exercise extreme caution!
Employ every precaution:
Zealously position your feet:
Inattentive moves can defeat
Needed safety whilst walking
Gaily down the street and talking.

Really, folks should engage
A careful step, at every stage.
Ice with cunning deception,
Needs incisive perception

In such circumstances.
So be well advised, instances

Doubly dangerous,
Are those far more injurious.
Nasty bruises to your derriere,
Give pain, you cannot share
Except with persons who
Really are familiar with you.
Often a salve, embrocation or
Unction, applied to parts sore:
Soothes and eases bruising

To a place - some find amusing-
Ousting the deep aching pain

Which walkers can easily attain
After slipping on an icy path.
Lastly, experience with Nature’s wrath,
Keeps many from taking a gamble
Even should they desire to ramble.
Remember icy paths we should fear,
Should freezing rain reappear!

Rhymer.

(PS: Central Southern Ontario is presently
under a freezing rain warning.
Treacherous to say the least. )
