Dreams Of The Night

a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK

In the middle of the night
When even the stars go to sleep
And my mind is in flight
Towards the cosmos so deep
There high-flying my dreams
I search for the future
Amid clear cloudy streams
Could such a delicate nature
Of flaming trees and grass
I see from a sky above
The distant mountain pass
Towards its space I drove
On whose ledge cracked and splintered
I settle in slowly with flapping wings
Sparkling marbles rock glittered
There is to see my kindred souls
In a faraway spirit filled dome
Songs in the ether slowly doles
In a place I can call home
