a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

It feels like a stranger,
Someone not seen before.
I don't recognise your lessons,
They leave me wanting more.

It feels like a stranger
With an inability to laugh
Or use sarcastic remarks again.
Oh, why can't you be you, not a copy, not plain?

Who are you stranger
Don't you recognise my encouraging smile?
Why are are you hiding like a child
When you are not infantile?

To make yourself a stranger
At the result of a comment or two
Is a sin to yourself
And is just not you.
