CLOUDS

a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK

When I look in wonder at the clouds
Sweeping across the torrid sky in unending
Motion and wonder whither do they come
They that then dissolve as rain and snow
Drizzle and mist and even fog
These clouds remind me of how
We all come to this world in an
Unending cycle and blown along
By the winds of life we too
Don’t know where we come from
Nor do we know where we are going
Yet we make our mark and leave
These clouds have been traversing
The skies for ages of old, coming
And going, grey and solemn
Sometimes billowing and white
Or wispy and seemingly stretched
Then also dressed in hues of splendour
At sunset or sunrise in beauty
That leaves one gasping in awe
