Old winter

a poem by Michelle Klemm, Germany - poetry writer, author, poet

Winter is an old man now,
he won't endure warmth,
he struggles against spring,
he sticks to his guns,
he still lets us freeze.

The sun melts the snow,
gives the day more length,
welcomes the birds arriving,
colours are no more blunt.
Winter will now ease.
