a poem by Olomolehin John, Nigeria

My silence is a wide grazing pasture
where stubborn grasses of memories
have long been in existence

My silence is an endless stretch
of restless sea
naturally disturbed by ceaseless tides of thoughts

My silence, a large deposit of energy
sustaining my tough voyages
amidst wounded willingness

My cherished silence
seated within you are pillars of wisdom
unveiled at every point of vital decisions
like a compass to restore lost travelers

My silence,an awesome weapon
wrapped often in cloaks
of boredom and tiredness
emitting rays of misimpressions.
