Fading Hearts!

a poem by Phillip Joseph Hussey, UK

Oh does love ever age
When you reach
The twilight of life
Does it grow with you
And also start to fade
As the sun at dusk
In the golden years
Like old tattered jeans
Worn and frayed bare
Does it ever overspill?
When it reaches the brim
I have seen love lost
In days of maturity
Love seemingly unblemished
Suddenly tainted red
Lost in the fortunes of time
