(first poem) :Get Behind Me Satan" (second poem) "Sadness--Evil Thief

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

Ahead, behind, seeking love's rescue
Thoughts will carry me beyond you
Grief, thy thief among glory's molded
Tears hot chilling thy hearts scolded
Where shall inner star glow again
Where will for my love, my grief end
Words, thoughts slither and flow
Where will my sadness end or slow
Brisk comforts carry upon my mind
I must somehow leave tears behind

Sadness-- Evil's Thief

Grief,
sadness,
Satan's evil,
at its best,
sewn an woven,
tenderly,
gently,
even delicately
and so quietly
so slowly
not to notice,
stealing away,
a grieving soul,
of all life's happiness.
