The Shadows Of Love

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

Caught up in willows of the mind
Those remembered or left behind
Cast not my sails to all, but few
For I only are the one for you
Cast not your minds eye upon her

Swallow thy pride, oh chase me again
Cast all songs of others to the winds
Sing, of all love poems, upon me descend
Should I go, I must not, nor will I sway
For I know, to me-- if only in thy mind
to me, yes--- you shall return one day
