What Is Summer

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

What is summer
but a brazen suns glow
It melts of the fittest
It sways to fun's flow

What is summer
but a rash of prickly heat
Its temperatures of 90's soar
as sand burns hot tired feet

What is summer
but a roasting furnace
It bellows heat out to all
It melts ice at a swift glance

What is summer
but nothing but fun
a lovely day to go run
We all love it so

What is summer
but the best season of all
comes right before Fall
and without summer it'd
surely be a bummer.
