If I Could Be.

a poem by Linda Bates Terrell, USA

If I could be the brisk wind,
I'd fly swiftly in the sky,
I'd flow low-- around and around
delicately caressing my love.

If I could be the sun,
I'd glow and shine down, as
I'd warm and cuddle my love.

If I could be the air that flows,
upon a summers breeze, I'd rest myself
within the soft smells of my love's dark hair.

If I could be the birds that sing,
I'd fly about to bring my love laughter,
then I'd rest on the shoulder of only my love.

If I could be the white clouds to drift,
I'd swirl in the shape of a heart, as
I'd flow over then far away from my love.

If I could be the precious gentleness
sounds within children's joyful voices,
I'd sing sweet songs, for my love of
my forever love.

If I could be the blue skies,
that brought about a beautiful day,
just to flow above capturing
the smiles of my love.

If I could be love,
I'd wish to be with in my love's
heart--for me-- for ever more.
