summer can end

a poem by Kevin Rottweiler, USA

summer can end
that is O.K.
looking forward to
ice crystals
in the midwest
a caterpillar
making a home
as a spider
spins a web
of security
a warm blanket
for a scary looking
creature
and the pumpkins
begin lining up
all orange and brown
as Canadian geese
laugh in their droppings
and rain washes
the sidewalks clean
like a hobo downtown
nobody likes the poop
from the geese
but life is life
nobody is perfect
ice crystals
in the midwest
and the autumn leaves
please protect the hobo
people can wind up
in low places
due to
outside forces
but in the Bible
they say the sparrows
are protected by
God's mercy
nobody likes the poop

Hot Water Bottle
Changing Seasons of Rain
Blue Frogs on Sunday
