It's becoming fall

a poem by Michelle Klemm, Germany - poetry writer, author, poet

Truly, it's becoming fall,
days are already getting shorter,
darker and colder the nights.

Truly, it's becoming fall,
after cool nights the meadows
are already sprinkled by morning dew.

Truly, it's becoming fall,
pearls of dew are already glistening
on silvery cobwebs in the morning sun.

Truly, it's becoming fall,
glans and chestnuts are already ripening,
yellow leaves shimmering at the birch tree.

Truly, it's becoming fall,
the fields of gold are sheared bare
already, fast as the wind.

Truly, it's becoming fall,
I'm already feeling the momentariness
of summer, of beauty, of life.

A day in late summer
