Elephant Planet

a poem by Kevin Rottweiler, USA

around year 2 million A.D.
the elephants ruled the earth
big strong tender fellows
slept on Canadian goose feathers
everyone can get a long
singing a rap or poetic song
the elephant planet
and they grow peanut butter dreams
jars of peanut butter cream
nobody argues on earth
elephants bounce on the earth
a trapeze of fun
inflated balloons
a circus of colors
clowns hide their faces
big strong tender fellows
slept on Canadian goose feathers
getting ready for a circus
that man's hands made
so they go to the tents
tired and droopy
ruling the earth
ruling the circus
a circus of colors
bouncing on trapeze
pouncing on fleas
afraid of mice
but longing for a piece of cheese
and they grow peanut butter dreams
nobody argues on earth
the elephants are in control
screaming poetry and rap songs
from wrinkled trunks
big strong tender fellows
