Elephants Dance

a poem by Kevin Rottweiler, USA

From the circus
the tent opened
and two elephants
got the spirit
from Mother Nature
dancing
prancing
putting on quite a show
drunk on peanuts
drunk on love
trunks
love a dub
love from above
such good creatures
with wrinkles
holding up their paws
waiting on miracles
the circus life
can be hard
but they still dance
Winkie did a dance for God
Wanda danced for her own sake
but most of all
they made the earth
shake
