a poem by UKAONU DORIS OBIANUJU, Nigeria

Once upon a time,
I used to snigger at brandy,
For her track "LONG DISTANCE" was sandy,
My heart never saw it handy.
When she cried,I laughed...
But now the reverse is more than a half.
Distance has pierced deep into my scalp,
Hence, the only anthem my lips fall is brandy's.
Though I throw tantrums like a kid,the solution ain't no candies.

O my blossomed cherry,
Please come home to cheer me,
My heart, its call...I know you always hearken.
Please come forth before it gets darkened.
