A Drop

a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

A drop

Becomes a pool. Your eye
Is swimming and embracing the lie
Of hidden depths. When will you stop
Ignoring the truth? You wear the devils horn
You're the roses thorn
Causing so much pain and misery
That it hurts to look in your stone eyes
This is it. You
Are forever dead inside.

The strangeness of an eye drop exposes the lie of a tear
