Anywhere at all?

a poem by Elizabeth Grace Shearer, UK - poetry writer, author, poet

Is there nowhere to hide from the prying eyes,
the hurtful words of hate and despise?

Is there nowhere to run from the feelings inside
to the mountain tops or away with the tide?

Is there anyone out there who cares at all
how much it hurts when I stumble and fall?

Could there ever be more than an empty struggle,
each day dawning a new problem to juggle?

Will I ever amount to anything worthwhile
or should I just keep the fake smile?

Fighting every day
Times of Struggle
