Site Monitor Who Are You?

a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

They went to the effort to make sure I was fine
But their identity I don't have a clue
They picked up the phone and called the emergency line
So Site Monitor who are you?

Those two words seem so vague to me
They really don't seem enough at all
They are just a faceless stranger that I see
I don't know if they are man, woman, old, young, small or tall

To the people that say it doesn't matter, I disagree
I don't care in a shallow way, that isn't it
But I think that they cared enough about me
So I could return that favour by knowing them a bit

Maybe it will never happen, maybe it's not meant to be
But if I knew I would feel set free
