Striking Pix

a poem by Olomolehin John, Nigeria

A lonely little girl
In an early preschooler's age
Calmly seated in a natural pose
Deficient of say-cheese-smile
Instead
Absolutely locked in a stare
In deep thoughts
Looking withdrawn yet so contented
With the interactive friendship
That intensely connected her to her mind
Even as far back then
Glimpses of intellect
Secured a permanent reputation
In her cute beauty.
