"By blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus." MOTHER TERESA.(26th August 1910 – 5th September 1997)

Dear Mother Teresa,
Countless times I have fled to the wings of your divine comfort to beseech counsel, intervention, strength, solace for my tormented soul, seek guidance on faith, purpose for my existence and sought-after some meaning to this life we living in;"Times of such deep regrets."

Tonight as I watch the news, heartbreaking event after another, caused by inhumane acts of human beings,i realized,as the dusk sets another season,or the calender usher in a new year,or new beginning; It never gets better. The world keep on going rogue.
Oh how devastating it can only get few years down the line!As a result,i decided to write a letter to my unborn daughter Mia,tell her a tale about a time in history, when saints lived among men.
A piece that will keep her going when times get rough and every vision, word and sound bring tears to her eyes.

"My Darling Miha..."And so the letter began, each word meticulously considered, each phrase and paragraph re-edited to match your image and deliver a hopeful message to my tender one.And as I sign off,sit back and re-read every sentence, patched on a sunflower;A Yellow Chevron Parakeet sang “You don’t need all those words, simply meditate on her course!”

Chastity, selfless deeds, sacrifices you made, giving yourself entirely to the world and will of God,tending the destitute, the lame, the helpless, unifying masses indifferent to race, religion or continent...Your gospel and teachings, your endless and unconditional love for Jesus...!

Oh my!Your mission in life;Is more golden literature than any amount of words.

When time comes and Mia needs an Angel,i will only need to open a chapter of your life for my daughter to perceive humility,humanity,courage,kindness...and what true love is truly made of.

The catholic church, sadly,is still waiting for a second miracle credited to your intervention before your canonization.
Well,I don’t know what kind(with uttermost respect)the church awaits,if mere existence of a soul totally dedicated to living and caring for "The hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone." in a world torn apart by greed for power, luxury, wealth accumulation, politics, war, diseases, idolatry, and all manner of negativity,is not miracle enough.

From where I stand, the cap of sainthood fit you perfectly and should have been bestowed on you ages ago.

Naysayers may speak, critics may keep on and Vatican may never proceed with your canonization, but in heaven,i believe you are one among the Angels.

My hero,my idol,my comforter and confidant;Blessed Teresa of Calcutta. With this humble ink, written with overflowing joy, love, praise, honour and respect,i declare and decree that indeed you are a saint!

Yours truly in adoration,
Peninnah Ng'ang'a.
