Temporary

a poem by Olomolehin John, Nigeria

The long silence
When inspiration arousal goes numb
And passion to pen deflates
The lengthened breakaway
When life gallops into another direction
Just to survive its turbulence
And the mind is confined to a cyst
Riskily tethered to orientation, disorientation
And endurance
This talent within, active but silenced
Like a computer conditioned to an idle mode
Withstands the tortures
Absolutely convinced that the menace
Is just another short drought
Interrupting its growth.
