For my Dad (Donald William Mason)

a poem by Tracy Marie Windisch-Mason, Canada - poetry writer, author, poet

Like hidden light
Shines he
Joyously
Elegance within
That
Would chance
Every lesson within life
Every grace
I have learned
Within a
glance
I drown within his
Sea
Always
Immediately
Within charm
At pace within his arm
Or so he lets me
Believe
Disarming one of the many
Talents
He conceives
To relieve me
Or revive me
Of my agony
bare
When I have nowhere
He guides me
With love clothes me
When I struggle
Gives not just wings
Yet flies within
Me
So I could try
To
Become
What reality
Means to me
What a daughter can be
He taught me life
As I should see
As no father
Could
Or offered to
be
Within an ocean he shines
Like diamonds
That tears could die
Inside
And crystallize within
What I see
Not a Father In Law
He is the first
To me
In Glory
He is the first
I will
Truly call
Dad
One of the very few
So close to me
Brilliant he
Like peacock feathers
Protects
Me
Within beauty
And sears this heart
Within
A seal that none else
Can see
In all ways beautiful
And magnificent to me

-----

Dad I will love you forever.
Love always, Tracy xoxo
