You can't make a fool of your parents

a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

You can't make a fool of your parents,
You may be fooled instead,
They aim at your betterment,
You may be fooled instead.

By the time we learn this,
The opportunity is gone,
World regrets at leisure and,
There is none to mourn.

You think you are smart,
I know you are a fool,
Whom everyone can easily be fool,
Harken to the advice of thy parents.

Enjoy the life of love,
Your parents love you,
If only they could be heard,
If only they could be heard.

Don’t make a fool of yourself,
don't make yourself a fool,
the love of parents,
is itself a boon.
