a poem by Lee Emmett, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

footy season
starts again
tune the telly
watch the men
flying, marking
leather ball
rippling muscles
six feet tall
all the commentator
get excited
about some action
crowd's delighted
see the fans
in front of goal post
yell and jump up
they cheer most
dressed in colours
of their team
go Tigers!
hear them scream
