Sleepwalking

a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

Sleepwalking through life
And I'm supposed to just get on with it
And get over it
Even though I can't survive
With all of these broken bits
And you absent
Not there to fix them.
I thought you were an angel Heaven sent
But you're just one of many bad men
Who will come and wow me
And then just abandon me
Taking all the oxygen away
And breaking my heart
Until I can't breathe
Because life is the most painful part
And I can't know you,
It hurts too much
But I can't live without you
And I don't know why you don't stay in touch.
Was it me?
What did I do?
Was I just not good enough?
