Pretty Liar

a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

Your stories on fire
The stakes getting higher
Because you are a pretty liar
Long ago the truth expired
But you never get tired
Your stories on fire
The stakes getting higher
Pretty liar, pretty liar, pretty liar

This is just too tough,
I feel sick,
This makes me feel so rough
Take what you pick,
I don't care about material things
There are more important things to care about
Like the unhappiness your lies bring
Why do they even hear you out?

Why did I bother waking up
To the same old game?
It's too much,
I've had enough,
You're the one to blame,
Why do you do this?
What do you want to gain?
If I could just understand
But I can't and it's driving me insane

Is this your tool?
Does it make you feel powerful?
It's evil and it's cruel
And you're making people miserable
You seem to love the attention and drama,
I don't know why
But you'll get your karma,
I can't wait to see you cry
