Don't Let It Go

a poem by Skye Kerri- Leigh Bagshaw, UK

You shut me out
Trying to block out this stuff,
We don't know what it's about
But we know it's bad enough,
It sounds like too much
Coming in a rush
Been dealt a hand and bust
And we're turning into dust

No no no you've got it wrong
That's not the end of the story
We've got to stay strong
Be in perfect harmony
We've been together too long
To just let it go
So don't let it go

Please don't ignore me
It's not my fault
And can't you see
Our love is too strong to halt?
No got to hold on
And one day the bad days will be gone

Don't burn us into ash
Or into the ground
It may sound crass
But I'm empty without you around
As fragile as glass
But you made me a diamond
And I don't want to let it go
I don't know how it happened
But I love you and that's all I need to know
