A SUMMER SONG

a poem by Nishu Mathur, India

How bright the summer sun today
Calm blue skies will pave their way
As they carry  clouds on a  ride
'Tis beauty -
'Tis summer on a high

Warblers warble their notes near
Scented flowers tip toe to hear
Happy they seem rustling and alive
In a  dance to their summer of life

The gentle wind that this morn'  blows
Whistles  songs of long ago
Playing chimes and memories
A melody lilting through the trees

I too will bask  in the warm rays
And listen to what the day must say
The tunes of birds that drift in the  wind
And the  summer song that nature sings

For who  knows what the morrow holds
As seasons of life unfold
I shall sing as the day goes
And dance before the music slows
- And dance before the music slows

But Where Do You Go To My Lovely? ( a heady dedication)
Let your life lightly dance to the music...
