Heaven And Hell On Earth.

a poem by Mark Ainslie, UK

This world we live in, a troubled place.
Tumultuous home of the human race.
Millions of years of evolution,
Of Adoration and persecution.

In the magnitude of the universe, this seems to be.
Such an insignificant planet to me.
Not much more than a speck in time,
A tiny dot in a galaxy so sublime.

The natural resources, this planet makes.
Financial profit the rich man takes.
Power and greed often succeeds,
Giving rich man more than he needs.

Poor man struggles for food, it's plain to see,
Repression and neglect of the powers that be.
There is so much more that could be done,
To provide help to survive for everyone.

Religious aggravations and political strife,
Radicalised activists maliciously taking life.
Creating turmoil for what it's worth,
And making Heaven and Hell on Earth.
