Revelations

a poem by Raghunandan Ram, India

Suffocation of a snake
Before getting shell off,
Labour pain of a woman
Before a child comes of;
Sore of Autumn hit tree,
Ere the foliages born of
& the worship of a sage
Prior to moksha results of
Is all an olden revelation,
Latest in a new economy
Modest in a terror-trade
Where evolution, revolution
& renovation reveal a revel
In searches of material joy
Where trees shear off leaves,
Die of loss of water resources,
Bear no flower to attract pairs
& no date for tired wayfarers,
Offers a state of revelations,
Renovations & regenerations;
We are changing fast,
We are changing aghast.
