The Smile

a poem by Mobani Biswas, India - poetry writer, author, poet

A smiling child on a swing one day caught my sight,
Teeth set as pearls, sparkling in the sunlight.
Carefree she was and serenity ruled her face,
Her eyes gleamed with happiness not unknown to her age.
The child grew up in a blink of an eye,
Life taught her to be modest and shy.
Years passed on and changes were visible,
Time has it's effect on every individual.

One by one every turn of the album,
Shows what I was and what I have become.
Each image proves how time runs fast,
I stay still and the memories rush past.
F ace has changed and features have altered,
But the smile on the lips has never faltered.
