[68th Inspirational Challenge] I walk like I’ve got oil wells pumping in my living room

a poem by Mobani Biswas, India - poetry writer, author, poet

Inside me, my dreams are crumbling,
Outside, I am mirthful and singing.
Inside me, my hopes are dying,
Outside, I am cheerful and hearty.
Inside me, I am desolate and lonely,
Outside, I never let anyone feel abandoned.
Inside me, I have unrequited love,
Outside, people envy my life.
Inside me, my mind is moving between ifs & buts,
Outside, people are asking for my advice.
Inside me, my heart wishes to stop beating,
Outside, people are praising my compassion.
Inside me, I am wishing I had a different life,
Outside, people can’t locate anyone more satisfied.
Inside me, I feel no better than a pauper,
Outside, I walk like I’ve got oil wells pumping in my living room
