It's How.

a poem by Mark Ainslie, UK

It's How.

It's how your life begins that sets you on your way,
It's how such an important role your parents will play.
With devoted loving affection, and caring for you,
Teaching right from wrong and respect for others too.

It's how taking the knocks and all the scrapes,
It's the kiss that makes it better, is all it takes.
Standing on your own two feet, as you're getting older,
Putting into practice what your peers have told you.

It's how making decisions with the knowledge you've learnt,
It's maintaining the love and respect that you have earned.
The ever speeding passage of time just keeps rolling on,
In the blinking of an eye, childhood days are too soon gone.

It's how you keep strong when things do not go as planned,
It's how you pass on the belief and values you have in hand.
So called Words of wisdom and sharing your point of view,
Helping youngsters start their life, as your elders helped you.

It's how the legacy is growing, to be etched in their mind,
It's how the memories of moments, will be left behind.
Generation after generation ever since time began,
The simple rule of life is just do the best you can.
