The Poetical Court

a poem by tobias kerins, UK

In writing poetry, there are no rules
Lines of verse, poetic jewels
No guidelines to follow, the script unique
Whether written or read, the words must speak

With quill in hand, mind working overtime
Be sure the words, don’t have to rhyme
But the story the message, should emanate through
And give the reader, a literary clue

Poetry does often, hold the mind of the writer
The darkest thoughts, perhaps some brighter
But the beauty of this art, which the poet beholds
Can grasp and take over, of the reader controls

No rules are there, remember I said
Bullets dodge, not minefields tread
But interest create, conversation support
And welcome to, the poetical court

Opinions Count
