A hole in my chest, I miss you Dad...

a poem by Myrna Martin, USA

I woke up today with a hole in my chest....
The pain that is felt, is deep, and intense...
I miss you Dad, what else can I say?
I miss you every single day...
The pain consumed me, so I called Mom....
I simply asked..." Do you think it hurts this much because he is thinking of me too??"
She simply said, ''Yes."
I told Mom I Loved her, and hung up the phone...
I said outloud, "Dad I love you and miss you."
My weight on my chest lifted, and I got through my day...
But Daddy I miss you and love you... And that pain will stay...
