a poem by Emmanuel Ntezeyombi, UK

About two thousand years ago
Jesus had a personal relationship
With all his disciples, but they asked
Show us the Father and we’ll be satisfied
They overlooked Jesus living amongst them
Jesus says “Don’t you know me Philip even…
After I have been among you such a long time?”
Now we make the same errors, history repeats
In the Spirit... we completely overlook God in us
To ask, show us the Son, while ignoring the Spirit
The still small voice we sometimes think is ordinary
Some who have gifts of the Spirit say, it is just my gift
We seek Son, neglect Spirit, listen for Son, ignore Spirit!
How? Since the Spirit is in the Son and Jesus in the Father?
