Love is an orphan..

a poem by Dale Costello, Australia - poetry writer, author, poet

love is an orphan
and hell continues to burn
the night heeds no master
stars fall
unwilling to learn
I see you wading
through all that can't be said
and I wonder
of my own soul and yours
are we born alive
or dead

love is an orphan
and hell continues to burn
the sun bleeds its laughter
crows call
make sounds I cant discern
when will you come back
when will you return
when will you come back
when will you return
I see you smiling
in all that can't be known
we are the desert
we are the forest
we are every thought unsown
we are the wind
we are the sea
we are a single family
blown off-course
thrown further by the curse
of a sincere lack of
humility

love is an orphan
and an orphan
I will always be
in the flames
and this beautiful sanity
love is an orphan
and Hell continues to build..
